Universal Pictures is all set to kick start the fifth installment of its Bourne franchise.

The Sherlock Holmes writer Anthony Peckham has been roped in to do the script for the next installment of this action franchise.

The fifth Bourne movie will build on the story of Aaron Cross.
Jeremy Renner, who plays Cross in the movie, took over as the lead of the franchise in the fourth Bourne movie titled “The Bourne Legacy”, after Matt Damon quit.

In the new movie, he will carry on the role of a medically enhanced covert operative. “Franchise screenwriter Tony Gilroy took over directorial reins from Paul Greengrass, and Tony and Dan Gilroy wrote the script for Legacy.”

The fourth film, which was a big success, opened at No. 1 at the box office and went on to be one of the biggest grossers in the world.
