It's official! The biggest game in college football will be hosted by the Valley in 2016. Arizona will host the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship.

"Arizona has proven itself to be one of the greatest settings for premiere college football events, and has become a favored destination for fans from around the country. The folks in Arizona put together an exceptional bid that really won the day with the management committee," said Bill Hancock, executive director of the College Football Playoff.

Tampa Bay will host the 2017 championship game, the organization said.

The playoffs will begin with the 2014-2015 season and features the top four teams who are selected by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.
