A struggle between a suspect and a Phoenix Police officer led to the man being shot and injury to the officer. The incident took place near I-17 & Peoria on Friday evening.

The man has been admitted to a hospital in critical condition.

According to the authorities, two Phoenix police officers, who were working off-duty as security at an apartment complex, saw two suspicious men and tried to question them.

But the two men fled from the officers and ran on separate directions. One of the suspect was caught by an officer and a struggle ensued.

The suspect took hold of the officer's taser and injured him with it. So the officer took his firearm and shot the man on his chest twice.

Following the incident the suspect and the officer were taken to a hospital for treatment. The man has been reported to be in critical condition.
