Phoenix teen boy walked 6 miles after being molested

Phoenix police have arrested a man for allegedly molesting a family friend.

According to court records, a teenage boy walked 6 miles after being molested by a man, who took the boy to a store for party supplies.

The Phoenix Police Department report states that on March 11th a young teenage boy was attending a birthday party at a dance hall near Interstate 17 and Northern Avenue, when he and a family friend left to get dry ice.

35-year-old Adrian Barrera-Contreras, was hired to be a dance trainer at the birthday party. And was asked to go a grocery store to purchase some dry ice, when he took the boy with him, police said.

The boy said that he became very uncomfortable in the vehicle, when Contreras started talking about homosexual activities and later molested the boy inside the vehicle.

The boy got away and walked nearly 6 miles back to the dance studio. Police said, he was afraid that Contreras would find him, and took a different route to reach the studio.

When the boy reached at the studio, another family friend saw him “visibly shaking” and asked him what had happened.

Contreras allegedly admitted to police that he touched the teenager inappropriately, after he was arrested. He added that “he did it to get the boy to smile.”
The suspect is being held on a 150,000 USD bond and has been charged with child molestation.
