President Trump is holding a rally at phoenix convention center next week. The rally was confirmed by trump’s campaign and will take place on August 22 at 7.00p.m.
A briefing about this rally was done, after news of possible visit were reported last Friday. It also came, just after a day of trump’s comments on violence in Virginia.
Mr. President was conducting these campaign-style events in Trump- friendly areas, and this rally conducted on Aug 22 will be his first rally in the west.
Trump in an interview last week has said that he may pardon ex-sheriff Joe Arpaio, recently convicted former Phoenix-area sheriff.
Security is expected to be tight for this event.
Phoenix police has said, “Because high profile events are common in phoenix, we are well prepared to handle another presidential visit. Our planning is all-inclusive, to ensure another safe, high-profile event. The specifics of actions taken, including personnel deployment, is not security reasons.”
Mean while Phoenix Mayor Greg Station issued the below statement.
“Our constitution protects the right to speech, even for those we disagree with or those who don’t represent the values we hold dear as community, in preparation for this event my focus and that of the phoenix police department is on keeping everyone those attending the rally, those expressing their First Amendment rights outside and the general public safe”.
