A group of activists gathered outside U.S Sen. Jeff flakes central Phoenix office on Tuesday demanding law makers to pass a legislation preventing hundreds and thousands of young immigrants from being deported. These immigrants are popularly called as ‘DREAMERS’.

Representatives, activists, and various local immigrant-rights activist group reiterated a long pending demand of a perfect, clear and clean DREAM Act by end of 2017.

“Such legislation would include a pathway to citizenship with permanent protection without dangerous enforcement add-ons” according to a press release from non-profit Living United for change in Arizona.

Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt said on Tuesday “we will see how that works out, these are kids who were raised here . It is totally unreasonable to assume that it would be reasonable for them to go back and live in a country where they didn’t grew up. We want to have all the capability we can have in the country. There are always ways that can include a path to citizenship and particularly for kids who grew up here”.

He also said that a resolution for a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) impasse could include a pathway for citizenship for young people entered illegally to the United States as children. He also compared the DACA issue with the tough border security stating that polls show that majority of Americans want both stronger borders and a pathway to allow those young DREAMERS covered under the DACA program to stay in the country.

President Donald Trump, in September stated to end the program set up by former president Barack Obama, in which 80,000 people have been granted protection from being deported to countries, where they cannot even afford shelter which results them in being deserted.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) by a 2012 executive order, signed by then president Barack Obama, which offers temporary protection for young immigrants who entered U.S back in their childhood.

The group that gathered hopes that congress draft a perfect bill which addresses their concerns before Trump’s march deadline.
