Phoenix:

34 Year old Allen Saka was fatally shot in his driveway when he responded to some noise in the area, on Sunday night. Saka opened his garage door first after hearing some noise, and went ahead to investigate the same. He heard the noise in front of his home at 10:30pm, near 51st Ave and Thunderbird Road.

PD state that Saka was killed after confronting the people outside his home. Neighbors confirmed at least two gun shots were heard during that time. Saka was taken to hospital where he died.

According to a statement from Phoenix police Sgt Jonathan Howard, “detectives were especially keen to speak to people who may have observed any unknown person or persons walking in the area or evidence that their vehicle may have been broken into or rummaged through”

A neighbor Victoria Fernandez said, “This is a quiet neighborhood. And so for that to just happen, it’s kind of like, a wake-up call."

Danielle Jauregui, another neighbor, said “I couldn’t see anything, but I could hear the lady screaming, so I called 911. It can happen anywhere, but it is uncomfortable when it happens in your own neighborhood, especially when you have children. And I have a child that is the same age the (victim) has. You know, it hits close to home."

Saka has two young children of which one is a 4 year old child. His wife also heard the gun shots. They were living in the home on rent for less than a year. They all moved together from Iraq 5 years back, to live a safe life here.

There were rumbling found in the driveway, the next morning which state that the suspects were trying to break into Chevrolet Avalanche which was parked in the driveway. The rear window of the car was broken down.

The home shared a wall with Sunburst Elementary School. K9 and helicopters were searching the area post in incident and until now no clues have been found.

Anyone with information must call Phoenix police at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. Detectives are reaching out to people for information on suspects who are at large as of now.
