Shocking!! Internet off on March 08?

Millions of computers could go off the info highway as per reports. The main international servers are to be overhauled for DNSChanger Trojan infections.

A notification released last month by the American media stated that authorities in Estonia apprehended six men believed responsible for creating a malicious computer script called the DNSChanger Trojan. Once set loose on the Web, the worm corrupted computers in upwards of 100 countries, including an estimated 500,000 in America alone. Though the FBI alerted immediately to the call and made some necessary trouble shooting on the issue, it was temporary. But as per sources a major re-haul to get rid of this is going to be done on March 08.

In a nutshell this only means most of the gateways servers will not be able to inter connect resulting in no internet for the users. It could probably mean a holiday for those who are regular internet users. In short you should download the Avira DNS Repair-Tool and run it. After you run the tool, if you get a message that says: "The DNS settings of your system have not been manipulated by the DNSChanger," then you don't have anything to worry about.

If you get a different message, however, you, along with countless others, may lose your Internet connection on March 8 due to DNSChanger viruses, which the FBI began warning people about in November of last year. (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
