200 thatched houses gutted in fire in Hyderabad

200 thatched houses were reduced to ashes in a major fire accident at Nagole in Hyderabad city today. There are no immediate reports of loss of life.

The fire broke out in one of the thatched houses at Sainagar area of Nagole and spread to other houses in no time. Hundreds of people residing in the houses ran out for fear of lives leaving behind all their belongings in the houses.

Fire tenders and senior police officials have rushed to the spot but fire men were not in a position to put out the fire as gas cylinders have been exploding in some houses due to the impact of the fire, reports said. The reason for the fire accident is said to be short circuit in a house.

Hundreds of people, who have rendered shelter less, have been stranded on the roads following the fire accident. (J)
