Sex Aid Older Adults Brain To Work Better? June 24, 2017 18:00

A new research discovered that sex aid older adults brains to work better, as the found that older adults who reported of having sex at least once each week got better scores on the certain cognitive tests than those who reported of having sex only once per a month or not at all. The study by the researchers at Coventry University and also at University of Oxford, both in the United Kingdom was published in the Journals of Gerontology, Series B: Psychological and Social Sciences. Research builds on the earlier work, which found that the sexually active older adults have performed better on some tests of mental ability, as compared to those who were not sexually active. However, it is still not clear why such a link exists. The authors have referred to other studies which found that older adults who have busy social lives and also physically active are likely to perform better on the tests of mental function. These might suggest that the link between sexual activity and cognitive function is just a reflection of the social and physical elements of sexual activity. A lead author Dr. Hayley Wright, from the Centre for Research in Psychology, Behaviour and Achievement at the Coventry University, and colleagues has argued that the sexual activity is a complex phenomenon regarding to the potential to transcend not only the social and physical components, but also the psychological, emotional and also biological aspects. The researchers also proposed that more frequent sexual activity might be linked with the improved cognition, in the similar way as such a link exists for the other activities. Thus, the researchers designed a study using the broader range of cognitive tests in order to investigate the link. Oops Addicted to Love!! Mrudula Duddempudi.

US Senator slams Chinese media for threatening Indian-origin June 24, 2017 17:49

A top U.S. Senator has slammed Chinese media for “threatening” Indian-origin chancellor of the University of California, San Diego for hosting the Dalai Lama. The Tibetan spiritual leader delivered the commencement address at the University of June 7. California Senator, Dianne Feinstein said: “I find it unconscionable that a reporter for the Global Times, a mouthpiece of the Chinese Communist Party, would threaten UC San Diego and its chancellor and students for inviting the Dalai Lama to speak.” In a statement, Feinstein demanded the Chinese newspaper to apologize and retract the article that threatens to withhold visas from Chancellor Pradeep Khosla but also suggests that the university would be punished by withholding students. “The newspaper’s portrayal of the Dalai Lama as an anti-China separatist is also patently false,” she said. “I’ve known the Dalai Lama for more than 25 years and was directly involved in the latest discussions between him and the Chinese government. The Dalai Lama doesn’t wish to separate Tibet from China. Rather, he strives for greater autonomy so Tibetans may freely practice their faith,” Feinstein said. “The Dalai Lama’s desire to end religious persecution for his people doesn’t make him a separatist, it makes him a peaceful leader who should serve as an inspiration to all students. “The Chinese government and the media outlets it directly controls should recognize this and not threaten Americans or American institutions,” said the Senator from California. In its editorial on June 20, Global Times threatened the University Chancellor, saying: “Khosla must bear the consequences for this.” It went on to say: “His support for Tibet independence will affect his personal and the university’s exchanges with China. Chinese universities will take cooperative programs with it into prudent reconsideration. “It’s suggested that relevant Chinese authorities not issue visas to the chancellor and not recognize diplomas or degree certificates issued by the university in China.” The International Campaign for Tibet has also condemned the article and said that there is no evidence to suggest that Chancellor Khosla has been involved in any action supporting the independence of Tibet. Breast-Feeding Decreases The Risk Of Heart Diseases In Women June 24, 2017 15:37

Breast-feeding may literally be good for the heart: A new study suggests that breast-feeding decreases the risk of heart diseases in women. For the study, researchers have analyzed information from nearly 300,000 women in China. They found that those women who were moms and also had breast-fed were about 10 percent less likely to develop the heart disease and strokes during the period of study, when compared to the moms who had never breast-fed. Although the new study cannot prove for sure that breast-feeding caused the women to lower the risk of heart disease and strokes, "these findings suggest that interventions to increase the likelihood and duration of breast-feeding could have persistent benefits to maternal cardiovascular health," the researchers stated in the 21st June issue of the Journal of the American Heart Association. "Commitment from policy makers is needed to implement strategies in the health care system, communities and families, and the work environment that promote and support every woman to breast-feed," researchers said. Many previous studies have suggested that the women who had breast-feed experience have received short-term benefits, like weight loss and lower cholesterol, blood pressure and also glucose levels. But studies on the long-term benefits of breast-feeding on the women cardiovascular health have shown mixed results. The study discovered that, overall, the mothers who breast-fed had a 9 percent lower the risk of heart disease and an 8 percent of the lower risk of stroke, compared to the mothers who had not breast-feed. Mothers who had breast-fed for two years or more had an 18 percent lower risk of the heart disease and 17 percent lower risk of strokes, than those who had never breast-fed. The findings of the study held that even after the researchers had took into account factors that could affect the heart disease risk, such as smoking, high blood pressure, obesity and also diabetes. Still, the study was not able to take into account certain factors like the women diet, that could affect the women risk of heart disease. One of the previous studies in the United States found that only women who had breast-fed for at least two years had a lower risk of the coronary heart disease, compared with the women who did not breast-feed. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that exclusive breast-feeding for the first six months of infant’s life, meaning that the breast milk is only source of food for the child (along with the added vitamins and mineral supplements). After the baby reaches 6 months, the AAP recommends that mothers should continue breast-feeding until the infant reaches age 1, but that they should also introduce other foods during this time. Breast Milk May Aid In Early Detection Of Breast Cancer Mrudula Duddempudi.
