Doctors at Chandler Regional Center, Arizona, were seen recklessly handling a premature baby by dropping her on her head just moments after she was born. The video, released by the child’s parents, in no time went viral on social media causing outrage.

The video footage shows a doctor wrapping a newborn baby Morgan in blankets on a table. The medic can be seen surrounded by fellow doctors when the child slipped out of his hand and fell to the table. He immediately gets hold of the child and continues wrapping it.

Parents of the child said they were left shaken on seeing their baby girl being dropped while being cleaned. Monique Rodgers went into labor on February 14, weeks before her due date. The couple was informed that their twin daughters were arriving prematurely, but healthy. Morgan was delivered first and was handed over to a doctor to be cleaned when the medic dropped her.

Derrick, the father who was quite excited at the arrival of his twin daughters was videographing the whole scene when he caught the horrifying scene on camera.

The parents are demanding an apology from the hospital and want to know if the fall will have any long-term effects on the child. Monique told KNXV-TV, "I feel like she was treated like a sack of potatoes. I kind of promised myself that I would never watch that video again." Derrick confronted the doctor and said, "I told him, 'You dropped my baby,'. He had like a nonchalant look on his face. Then I showed him the video, and he had nothing to say after that."

An ultrasound conducted a week later found that the child has suffered a small hemorrhage of the brain. However, it is not clear if the injury was caused by the fall or not. Also, the family was made aware of the ultrasound only after six weeks.

Meanwhile, the hospital said they cannot comment on the specifics of the incident due to patient privacy laws.

Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center in a statement said, "The safety of our patients and their families is always our top concern. The medical team at Dignity Health Chandler Regional Medical Center takes this matter extremely seriously and is working to conduct a comprehensive review."
