Salman Khan’s eagerly awaited movie, Battle of Galwan, which takes inspiration from the clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley in 2020, has experienced a small adjustment to its filming timeline. The shoot in Mumbai, originally scheduled for this month, has been delayed, and the sets built at Mehboob Studios in Bandra are being dismantled. An insider disclosed that the reason for the Mumbai shoot delay was based on creative choices. The filming is now set to start again in Ladakh from August 22 to September 3, with a main focus on action scenes. The insider explained that because Salman Khan has a distinct appearance for his role, filming with a 30-day break between locations would disrupt consistency. “Apoorva (Lakhia) believed that the scenes should be filmed back to back. So, at this point, the Mumbai filming is postponed indefinitely. They will decide later if any song scenes or extra work is needed in the city,” the report noted.

Despite rumors suggesting there might be issues with the Ministry of Defence regarding the film’s sensitive topic, a trustworthy source clarified that the project is moving forward with all necessary approvals. The film aims to celebrate the bravery of Indian soldiers and does not negatively depict any country. “The producers wouldn’t have announced the movie without having the necessary permissions,” the source confirmed, as reported. Battle of Galwan also introduces a new partnership between Salman Khan and actress Chitrangda Singh. The cast includes talents like Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, Harshil Shah, Heera Sohall, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Vipin Bhardwaj. Battle of Galwan is based on real events from June 2020 when Indian and Chinese soldiers clashed in the remote, high-altitude Galwan Valley in Ladakh. Even though there were agreements prohibiting the use of firearms, the confrontation resulted in one of the most deadly border skirmishes in over 40 years. In spite of the challenging conditions, the Indian Army displayed remarkable bravery, engaging in hand-to-hand combat with primitive tools like stones and sticks.

Salman Khan previously spoke about how challenging this project has proven to be. “It is very physically demanding. Each year, month, and day it becomes increasingly difficult. I need to invest more time now. In the past, I could handle it in a week or two, but lately, I’m running, kicking, punching, and doing a lot of action. This film requires that intensity. For instance, in Sikandar, the action was different, and the character was different. But this is much more physically tough—especially filming in Ladakh, at high altitudes and in cold water,” he said. Salman also shared details about the upcoming shooting plan. “I have 20 days of work in Ladakh and then about seven to eight days in cold water. We will be filming this month,” he added.

His exercise routines are more than just regular weight lifting and jogging. Salman also practices in a special high-altitude room at his fitness center — made to mimic the heights of Leh and prepare his body ahead of time. Moreover, he avoids unhealthy snacks and sodas. Recently, the motion poster for Battle of Galwan was revealed on social media. It features Salman Khan with marks of blood on his face and his usual moustache, suggesting a powerful and emotional representation of love for the country and sacrifice. The images promise an exciting war story set at an altitude of 15,000 feet. The official date for the release of Battle of Galwan is still pending.
