Renault has introduced the updated Kiger in India, starting at a price of Rs 6.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, the more powerful turbo version is priced starting at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This new version of the SUV follows the release of the revamped Triber and features updates in its look, functions, and interior. The brand’s refreshed strategy focuses on offering one of the most budget-friendly SUVs in India, aiming to strengthen its market position against competitors.
When it comes to its look, the Renault Kiger facelift has minor tweaks compared to the older model. It now has a new stylish design for the daytime running lights that border a narrower grille. This also includes the new brand logo placed in the middle. The headlight casing has been redesigned to match the new bumper that features fog lights at the bottom. The car’s shape remains unchanged, but it has updated 16-inch alloy wheels, finished off with a fresh green color option.
Inside, the updated SUV retains a similar layout with a few modifications. The dashboard now features a new dual-tone color scheme of black and light grey. Another highlight is the inclusion of an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and a fully digital instrument panel. It claims to provide a boot space of 405 litres and 222 mm of legroom in the back seat. The SUV is packed with features like ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, automatic lights and wipers, a wireless charger, and more. For safety, it comes standard with six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), a tyre pressure monitor, hill start assist, and others. These features are available in four different variants: Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion. The Renault Kiger facelift continues to offer a choice between a 72 hp 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 100 hp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, with the naturally aspirated engine also available with an automated manual transmission, while the turbo-petrol engine can be matched with a continuously variable transmission. The brand boasts that the SUV offers the best acceleration time in its category from 0-100 km per hour.
