Hinduism is a minority religion in the United States. The Hindu population of the U.S. is the world's eighth-largest while 10 percent of Asian Americans are followers of the Hindu faith.

Currently, Hindu-Americans hold the highest education levels among all religious communities in the U.S., which is for the most part due to strong U.S. immigration policies that favor educated and highly skilled migrants.

According to Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life survey of 2009, 24 percent of Americans believe in rebirth, a core concept of Hinduism.

There are approximately 843 Hindu temples in the U.S., however here are top 10 famous temples for you.

Akshardham Temple, New Jersey

Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple is built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and consecrated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The mandir was constructed according to guidelines outlined in ancient Vedas, or Hindu scriptures. The mandir is open daily to visitors and for worship.
