Poco C81 was introduced in India on Thursday as the newest member of the affordable range from the Xiaomi sub-brand. The regular version was launched together with the new Poco C81x, which has similar features and specifications. Both models are expected to be available for purchase later this month in India. The Poco C81 comes in three colors, whereas the Poco C81x will be offered in two colors. Both devices are driven by the same octa-core Unisoc processor. The regular version includes a 6,300mAh battery. Both new Poco smartphones support 15W wired quick charging. The Poco C81 starts at a price of Rs. 10,999 for the single 4GB + 64GB RAM and storage option. In contrast, the Poco C81x is priced at Rs. 9,999 for its one version that features 3GB of RAM and the same storage as the standard variant. Both devices are set to launch in India on April 27 at noon through Flipkart. The Poco C81 is available in Elite Black, Ice Blue, and Sunset Gold color choices, while the Poco C81x does not come in the Sunset Gold option.
The Poco C81 and Poco C81x are dual SIM phones. The standard version operates on Android 16-based HyperOS 3, while the Poco C81x comes with Android 15. The manufacturer promises four years of operating system updates for the Poco C81 and two years for the Poco C81x, in addition to providing both models with six years of security updates. The Poco C81 has a 6.9-inch HD+ (720 x 1,600 pixels) screen, featuring an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, and peak brightness of up to 800 nits. Conversely, the Poco C81x has a 6.88-inch HD+ (720x1,640 pixels) display, also with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 650 nits. Both smartphones have TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, and Circadian-Friendly certifications. Additionally, the two devices run on an octa-core Unisoc T7250 processor, combined with an ARM Mali-G57 GPU, which operates at 1.8GHz. The phones include LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 2TB using a MicroSD card.
For photography, the Poco C81 comes with a dual rear camera setup, featuring a 13-megapixel main camera and a secondary camera that is not specified. In contrast, the Poco C81x has just one 13-megapixel camera on the back. Both smartphones include 8-megapixel front cameras for selfies and video conferences, capable of recording videos up to 1080p at 30 frames per second. The Poco C81 series is rated IP52 for protection against dust and water splashes. The Poco C81 and Poco C81x contain batteries of 6,300mAh and 5,200mAh, respectively, with support for 15W wired charging and 7.5W wired reverse charging. The two versions also support 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C ports, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS for connectivity. Both phones come with side-mounted fingerprint sensors for added security.
