The incident was exposed during 18th Sep Wednesday from a customs official that customs officials in Goa has taken hold of suddenly 12 kilograms of gold bars from two Sri Lankans. The official explained that the value of the gold seized known to be Rs.3.60 crore in the international market, and it is the biggest carting of gold seized in Goa as an of late occurrence.
Customs and Central Excise Commissioner for Goa region V.P. Rao told reporters that the gold was discovered secretly placed under two seats of an Air India plane which had arrived from Dubai via Mumbai. Rao added that the the Sri Lankans were recognized as Zuhar Shike Suleiman along with Mohamed Riyaz Mohamed Niyaz.
