If all goes as planned, then a veteran cemetery could come up in northern Arizona soon. Currently, the cemetery is in its early planning stages.

Officials revealed that the burial site would cater to the military families on the Colorado Plateau.

“The only official veterans cemetery in northern Arizona is a nationally run facility in Prescott, and it is has run out of space for full-body burials,” Ktar.com writes.

A spokesman for the state Department of Veterans Services, Dave Hampton, said “Arizona is pushing to open new veterans cemeteries.” He said, “Camp Navajo cemetery will be joined by new sites in Yuma and Marana.”
