A 26-year-old man was gravely injured as he jumped 25 feet down from the second-floor running track at an area community center. He was later rushed to the Valley hospital.
The disabled man had apparently mounted a railing at the Rio Vista Community Center in Peoria and jumped 25 feet down onto a basketball court below, revealed Peoria spokesperson Bo Larsen.
“He landed on his feet and rolled onto his back,” Larsen further added. He suffered a deep cut on his head. His current condition is unknown.
He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital.
The man was on an outing with his group home during the accident.
