Not just America, even parts of Asia seem to be weathering sub zero conditions.

Even as news of the cold snap icing up the Niagara Falls in the U.S. continues to grab headlines, bitter temperatures in China have frozen a towering waterfall in the Miyun District into rock solid.

And unlike the rest of the Americans, who created a chaos over the plummeting temperatures, the ice-cool Chinese decided to make most of the frigid temperature and have some rock solid fun by going for ice climbing.

Thrill seekers in spiky footwear thronged the venue with ropes, crampons, ice screws, pickaxes and plenty of grit and determination to view the incredible sight as well as scale the vast waterfall before it melts into a cascading waterfall again.

Despite the unfamiliar event, the big chill has given snappers an opportunity to take some dramatic photographs of the breathtaking landscape.
