Tech Loving PM Modi urged Twitter CEO for Taking InitiativesTop Stories

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been sharing his views and government programmes in social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc for disseminating the information to the public and to make the government more transparent. During his meeting with Twitter CEO Dick Costolo on Tuesday, he came across the potential in Indian youth and India’s diversities.

According to the press release of PMO, Modi urged Costolo to take initiative in popularizing 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan' and 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' for strengthening India. He also asked the CEO of Twitter to promote India's tourism potential.

During the conversation Costolo also informed Modi that Twitter is growing rapidly in India. Modi talked to him in a friendly manner for considering the India's linguistic diversity in designing new developments. According to the media reports, Modi asked him to spread the spirit in celebrating International Day of Yoga across the world.

After discussing with PM Modi shared his views on potential in Indian youth and knowledge, "how people are innovating" and saw India's young population "as a wonderful opportunity for Twitter to grow" Costolo said.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Facebook CEO Mark Zukerberg had extended their support in spreading the vision of Modi and showed interest in contributing for ‘Make In India’ last year when they met Indian PM.
