45 Indians Feared Dead In Saudi Arabia Bus Accident

Tragedy occurred close to Medina, Saudi Arabia, on Monday when 42 Indian Umrah travelers lost their lives in a serious crash involving a bus and a tanker. The individuals were on their way from Mecca to Medina when the bus went up in flames. After the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his sympathies and mentioned, "I am thinking of the families grieving for their loved ones. I hope for the quick recovery of all injured." Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju also conveyed their sincere condolences to the families affected. In the aftermath of the bus crash in Saudi Arabia, Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar stated, "Forty-five individuals have passed away, and only one person is alive and currently hospitalized." The Indian Consulate in Jeddah has set up a 24-hour control room at the number 8002440003. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow after a tragic incident in Medina, Saudi Arabia, involving Indian citizens. He confirmed that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are actively helping the affected individuals. "I am very saddened by the event in Medina that involved Indian citizens. My thoughts are with the families who have experienced this loss. I hope for the fast recovery of all who are injured. Our Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate in Jeddah are providing every possible assistance, and our officials are working closely with Saudi Arabian authorities," Modi posted.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed their sadness over the tragic bus incident in Saudi Arabia. "I am very upset to learn about the tragic event in Saudi Arabia that resulted in the deaths of our fellow countrymen from Telangana who were on the holy Umrah pilgrimage," Chief Minister Naidu shared on X. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan mentioned how heartbreaking it is that 42 Indians lost their lives in this awful road accident near Medina. Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also took to X to express his deep sorrow regarding the incident.

A man from Hyderabad reportedly witnessed the bus accident in Saudi Arabia and informed folks back home, encouraging them to reach out to their family members traveling to Medina. A bus full of Umrah pilgrims from Mecca to Medina crashed into a diesel tanker around 1:30 am (IST) near Mufrihat. At least 45 people are believed to have died. One individual survived the horrific accident that claimed the lives of 42 Indian Umrah travelers near Medina on Monday. Mohd Abdul Shoiab, aged 24, was said to be sitting near the driver when the bus collided with a diesel tanker, as per sources.
