The India Impact Summit 2026 has officially started today. This five-day event, taking place from February 16 to 20, will welcome delegates from numerous countries. Notable figures from Silicon Valley will also be present. With this in mind, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced UPI One World, a payment service supported by UPI, specifically designed for delegates from over 40 nations. Currently in the pilot stage, this service will enable smooth Person-to-Merchant (P2M) transactions at the New Delhi International Airport as well as during the summit, without the need for an Indian bank account or mobile number. "UPI is the biggest real-time payment system globally," shared Sohini Rajola, Executive Director of Growth at NPCI. The 'UPI One World' service at the India AI Impact Summit allows international delegates to experience India's advancements in digital payments. "This initiative showcases how efficient cross-border payment systems can help create a more connected digital economy worldwide," Rajola continued.

The wallet can be accessed through licensed providers at New Delhi International Airport and at the NPCI Pavilion located at the summit. Travelers can fund the wallet using their international debit or credit cards and carry out transactions by scanning regular UPI QR codes. Each transaction can load a maximum of Rs 25,000, with a monthly total limit of Rs 50,000. Any leftover balance at the end of the trip can be refunded to the original payment source according to applicable foreign exchange laws. First, download the CheqUPI app, powered by Transcorp, from the official app stores for Android or iOS. After installing it, you must register by entering your passport and visa details. Finalize identity verification by uploading a selfie and setting up a UPI PIN. Once your application is approved by the system, you will obtain a unique UPI ID. Finally, you can add money to your wallet using your international debit or credit card.

International travelers will avoid the trouble of carrying cash or handling complicated exchanges of currency. The NPCI's announcement comes at a time when UPI continues to grow impressively, having processed 21.70 billion transactions in January 2026 alone. Through its efforts at the India AI Impact Summit, NPCI hopes to highlight India's digital public infrastructure's potential to world leaders and policymakers in technology.
