Shah Rukh Khan has come into the attack of BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya for commenting that said “religious intolerance and not being secular… is the worst kind of crime that you can do as a patriot.”

Vijayvargiya said as an attack that, "Shahrukh's comment about intolerance points that he is matching the tunes with Pakistan and anti-Indian forces."

He added that it looks like Khan “lives in Hindustan but his soul is in Pakistan.”

Questioning SRK’s patriotism, Vijayvargiya said he had become a “Bharat virodhi” (anti-India) and looks like joining “international forces” out to “defame India and dampen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda”.

The Indian Express quoted Vijayvargiya as saying that, “Aisa lagta hai, woh rahte hain Hindustan mein, lekin unka aatma Pakistan mein hai.”

However, Vijayvargia comments on SRk have been condemned by Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, saying that his views are not party views and Vijayvargia is not a spokesman for BJP.

Vijayvargia is now in-charge of the party’s West Bengal unit. BJP hailed him as the architect of the stunning victory in Haryana.

“There are some international forces conspiring against India. They want India to be defamed. Artistes like Shah Rukh should have stayed away from this. The writers, scientists and artistes who have been protesting against the Modi government have become victims of this international conspiracy. Wittingly or unwittingly, Shah Rukh also became a part of it. They have become Bharat virodhi,” Vijayvargia said.

Kailash Vijayvargiya described SRK as a ‘good artist’ and said that such an artist should have kept “desh ki pratishtha” in mind before joining “political forces” trying to create hurdles for the development works made by BJP government.

Earlier in the day, Vijayvargiya tweeted: “He (Khan) stays in India, but his heart probably lies in Pakistan. His films earn crores here but he sees only intolerance here.”

“What can it be called if not anti-national? India is on the verge of becoming a permanent member of the UN Security Council. All anti-India forces, including Pakistan, are conspiring against this… Creating an atmosphere of intolerance in the country is part of this conspiracy. Shah Rukh’s cry over intolerance is joining voices with Pakistan and anti-Indian forces.”

“Where was Shah Rukh Khan when hundreds of people were killed in 1993 in Mumbai? Where was Shah Rukh when Mumbai faced the 26/11 attack?… Today the entire world is honouring India and its leadership. In such circumstances, to talk about intolerance would weaken India before the world,” he tweeted.
