Actor Anil Kapoor has disclosed that he was invited to make a brief appearance in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is the next installment of Dhurandhar, but unfortunately had to turn down the role due to existing work commitments. In a discussion, Anil Kapoor mentioned that director Aditya Dhar had reached out to him for a small part in the movie.

Nevertheless, the actor stated that he preferred to keep his promise to another filmmaker. "Yes, Aditya approached me for Dhurandhar 2. He wanted me to take on a minor role in the movie. But the foundation of my career rests on my professionalism and my dedication. That holds great importance; just having talent isn't enough," he explained. "At that point, I had already promised those dates to another filmmaker. I informed Aditya, 'I would have been happy to take this role, but I’m already tied up.' He is now releasing the movie, and I have no doubt it’s a great film. It’s my loss, but that’s alright," Kapoor added.

The actor emphasized that keeping professional promises is vital in the film industry and expressed his desire to work with Dhar in the future. "At least I have in my thoughts that the same can happen to him - another filmmaker might land a big hit and propose something to me while I am already booked with Aditya. If I choose to do that film and cancel my prior commitment, it would be very unprofessional. So yes, he offered me the role, and I hope we get to collaborate down the line," he shared. Dhurandhar, which was written and directed by Aditya Dhar, is a spy action thriller that came out in December of the previous year. The film features key performances by Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, and Danish Pandor.

Taking place in Lyari, Karachi, an area known for its history of gang violence, the movie centers around secret intelligence missions set against significant global and terror incidents like the Kandahar plane hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The film is said to have grossed over Rs 1300 crore across the globe. The sequel, Dhurandhar 2, is set to premiere on March 19. Kapoor was last seen in Subedar, directed by Suresh Triveni. The film was released on Prime Video on March 5 and also features Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Radhika Madan, Aditya Rawal, and Faisal Malik. It follows the story of Arjun Singh, played by Kapoor, as he faces challenges in adjusting to normal life while encountering personal and societal issues.
