Arizona State Public Safety Agencies have sent air crafts and personnel understanding the impact of Harvey In Texas. The Arizona National Guard sent for 4 helicopters to be part of a national Guard pool available as help needed.
And the Phoenix fire department has activated an 80 member urban search and rescue team for 14 days deployment in Texas. The helicopters sent included three UH-60 Blackhawks and UH-72 Lakota.
The Phoenix fire department search and rescue team has previously assisted in Oklahoma City Bombing, 2001 terrorist attacks and Hurricane Katrina. The team is made up of specially trained Phoenix fire fighters. According to FEMA, they are Arizona Task Force One.
Shelly Jamieson, in a phone interview said, “we can manage anything, The beauty of this team is we have HAZMAT resources, technical rescue. Everything from swift water to collapsed rubble, cribbing and Shoring”.
Hurricane Harvey has impacted Arizona also, as people in Arizona are worried about their loved ones residing in Houston Area.
The Former Arizona Cardinals player Bertrand Berry, said he was worked for the well being his family and he is feeling little bit guilty as he is not there to handle the situation with his family.
“I have my brother, mother, father and grand mother all of my family is there except me”, said berry.
He also said, he sees a silver lining in watching strangers help strangers. “They are doing it because its the right thing to do”, it gives us hope that there are still good people out there, the world can survive.
