Chennai Super Kings off to a Poor Start in an IPL Season

Chennai Super Kings happens to be one of the best teams of IPL and they have been the hot favorite every year. Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions but they are off to a poor start in the IPL 2022. They played their first match with Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. The team failed to defend 210 against Lucknow Super Giants yesterday. This is the firs time, Chennai Super Kings lost both the matches in an IPL season. Critics say that the team is off to the worst start ever. Chennai Super Kings happens to be the second most successful team in IPL since the format of cricket started.

Top player MS Dhoni announced that he decided to step down as the captain of Chennai Super Kings two days before the season commenced and Ravindra Jadeja is replaced. MS Dhoni scored a quick half-century in the first match but this could not make Chennai Super Kings score a victory. Chennai Super Kings retained MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaekwad and Moeen Ali. Shardul Thakur, Faf du Plessis and Josh Hazlewood were not retained. Chennai Super Kings also left their fans in strain in 2020 after they ended up in the seventh place with their poor performance. CSK fans are hoping that the team will bounce back soon and top the chart in the league matches for the season.
