Redmi 15 5G was introduced in India on Tuesday. This phone has a large 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 33W charging, and it can charge other devices as well. It is driven by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. The Redmi 15 5G features a 144Hz screen that holds three TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye safety. The device includes a 50-megapixel camera on the back, and it runs on HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15, along with AI tools like Google’s Gemini and Circle to Search. The starting price for the Redmi 15 5G in India is Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB + 128GB version, while the 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB models are priced at Rs. 15,999 and Rs. 16,999, respectively. This phone will be available for buying from Amazon, the Xiaomi India website, and retail stores beginning August 28. The company mentioned that the Redmi 15 5G will come in Frosted White, Midnight Black, and Sandy Purple colors.
The newly launched Redmi 15 5G features a 6.9-inch full-HD+ display with a resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels along with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, a touch sampling rate of up to 288Hz, and a peak brightness of 850 nits. The display is certified by TÜV Rheinland for its low blue light, no flicker, and suitability for daily use. Powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC, the Redmi 15 5G comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It operates on HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15 right out of the box. The phone will get two years of major OS upgrades and four years of security updates. It includes AI features such as Google’s Gemini and Circle to Search. Regarding its cameras, the Redmi 15 5G has a dual rear camera system with a 50-megapixel main lens backed by AI. It also has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Other AI features include AI Sky, AI Beauty, and AI Erase. Additionally, it has Dolby-certified speakers.
