After the defeat in the first one-day international against South Africa, Team India bounced back and leveled the series by 1-1 in the second ODI. The decider and the final ODI took place yesterday in Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. South Africa tumbled down for 99 runs in their innings in just 27.1 overs. Heinrich Klaasen (34) was the top scorer for the side and Janneman Malan (15), Marco Jansen (14) scored double-digits among the South African batsmen. Kuldeep Yadav (4/18) was the hero of the day among the Indian bowlers and Washington Sundar (2/15), Mohammed Siraj (2/17) bagged the other wickets.
Chasing 100 was an easy task and the Indian batsmen completed it in style. India scored 105 runs by losing three wickets and completed the chase in 19.1 overs. Shubman Gill (49), Shreyas Iyer (28 not out) and Ishan Kishan (10) are the top scorers among the Indian batsmen. India now sealed the one-day series against South Africa. Imaad Fortuin (1/20) and Lungi Ngidi (1/21) took the wickets among the South African bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav is named as the Player of the Match and Mohammed Siraj is the Player of the Series. All the senior players flew to Australia to play the T20 World Cup 2022 which will start from October 16th. India will play their first match against Pakistan on October 23rd on Sunay.
