While US President Donald Trump has been eager to re-open the economy, corporate sector is framing its own rules to prevent the further spread of coronavirus.

As India sees a surge in coronavirus cases daily, Google has announced that its employees need not come to office till July 31.

Recently, Google’s parent company Alphabet said that Google’s work force can work from their homes until the end of this year.

According to Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai has now made his mind to extend the work from home facility after discussions with the experts of the firm.

He penned a mail to the employees in which he wrote that to enable the employees the ability to plan ahead the company would be extending the global voluntary work from home policy till June 30, 2021 for those roles that don’t need to be in office.

He further said that he hopes this flexibility would offer the employees the chance to balance their work and also take care of themselves and their loved ones over the next 12 months.

The Wall Street journal had reported that Google’s decision has made the parent company Alphabet to delay the comeback of its employees into second half of next year.

This decision by Google was reportedly influenced by different approaches of schools reopening across the country.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced and shared a new timetable to all his employees over a comprehensive mail saying he wishes that this timetable would enable employees to plan their working schedule ahead.

Meanwhile, Facebook has also planned to keep its 48,000 employees at home till the end of this year though CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in May that that he expects half of its employees to permanently work from home till the next decade.

Snap has also extended its work from home policy from September to January next year considering the impact of coronavirus on its employees.

Amazon’s corporate employees are also working from home throughout 2020.

The decisions by the corporate companies show that though Trump is urging to reopen the economy, these companies are taking their own route to safeguard the health of their employees.

Though business and political leaders are eagerly waiting for the vaccine, many firms and companies are expected to follow the footsteps of Google and make work from home decisions in days to come.

The US government has invested millions of dollars in various companies to develop the vaccine as soon as possible.

Recently, Moderna has completed its third phase of testing of its COVID-19 vaccine which is the first in the world to do so.

However, medical experts and officials from WHO say that the broadly accessible vaccinations for coronavirus would be available by December or by the spring season of 2021.
