Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Indian ODI and T20I captain, has tied up as the Masters Champions League (MCL) brand ambassador for the first three years. Through a special video message, Dhoni kick started the sales of tickets for the inaugural edition of MCL.

Recently, Dhoni was even named as the brand ambassador for the Grand Midwest Group, which is the MCL's holding company, for a three-year period.

Masters Champions League  is scheduled to begin on 28 January 2016, with a match the Dubai International Cricket Stadium (DICS) between Sourav Ganguly's Libra Legends and Virender Sehwag's Gemini Arabians. On 13 February 2016, the final match would be played at the same stadium.

Commenting about Dhoni endorsing as the brand ambassador of MCL, CEO Zarah Shah said, "Mahi is not just an extraordinary cricketer but also an extraordinary fan, who is keen to see some of cricket's greatest players in action. There is no better endorsement than to have one of the most successful captains like MS being associated with us."

Dhoni said in the video during the launch that, "Today I am in front of you not as a cricketer, but as a cricket fan. I have come here to tell you that our favourite cricketers are coming back to play on the field. Every fan will say one thing for sure…we want sixer."
